Award to regional tribal genome saviours
The Community Agrobiodiversity Conservation awards are one of the important landmarks in agrobiodiversity conservation efforts in the State. Two Awards were constituted using the interest amount accrued out of the prize money of Plant Genome Saviour Community Award worth 10 lakh received by Wayanad District Tribal Development Action Council in the year 2012 on behalf of Kurichya and Kuruma farm-ers. This is the first Award in the state for recognizing agro-biodiversity conservation by indigenous farmers,
Wayanad seed fest in collaboration with MSSRF (give brief attach report)
The award has been conferred by WTDAC to encourage farming communities in cultivation and conservation of native agro-biodiversity.
Collaborate and work in association with like minded individuals and institutions for the conservation of agrobiodiversity.

The process of selection: The application for the awards is invited through newspaper, visual media advertisements, agricultural extension and tribal development offices. The applications are directed through Biodiversity Management Committee (BMCs) of each Panchayath to the president of Wayanad District Tribal Development Action Council. The selection is done by an award committee constituted with the award winners of last year as the chairperson of the committee. Experts from various government departments and institutions such as Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Principal Agriculture Office, ITDP District Project Officer, representatives from WDTDAC are the members of the award committee. The committee scrutinizes all the applications received and shortlists farms are visited to select the awardees.
