Forest of life, a climate festival that celebrates the joy of nature, is being organised by Azim Premji University. The festival unveiled the stories of 110 diverse forests across the length and breadth of India. As an invitee of the programme Wayanad District Tribal Development Action Council representatives performed ‘Vattakali’, a folk dance form of Paniyan tribal community performed as part of their life cycle rituals. 

Further, ‘Kumbapattu’, another folk performance praising the glory and history of ‘Malakari’, one of the major deities of Kurichia, a settled agricuturist tribal community of Wayanad was also showcased. 

The community members also interacted with the audience of the programme regarding community’s inseparable relations with the forests
