The OPPARA Film Fest, organized by OPPARA Film Society Wayanad in association with M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) and Wayanad District Tribal Development Action Council (WDTDAC), was successfully held on 9 May 2026 at the MSSRF campus, Wayanad. The festival began with an inaugural ceremony attended by notable personalities from the cultural, social, and film sectors, followed by an open forum and interactive discussions with documentary filmmaker Ramdas Kadavallur and other guests. The event featured screenings of critically acclaimed films including Mannu: Sprouts of Endurance, Sami Blood, and Lucania, each exploring themes of indigenous identity, social justice, human struggle, and cultural survival. The festival witnessed active participation from film enthusiasts, students, cultural activists, and members of the public, creating a vibrant space for meaningful conversations through cinema. The program concluded successfully with positive audience engagement and appreciation for the initiative to promote socially conscious and culturally relevant films in Wayanad.
